Description
The Museum of the Earth (part of PRI in Ithaca) features the Ice Age Glacial Exhibit, devoted to the last Ice Age in New York’s prehistory. Its centerpiece is a walk-through replica of a glacial ice cave with translucent blue “ice” walls and dripping-water sound effects. The tunnel leads to a reconstructed mastodon skeleton – fittingly placed at the end of the artificial ice cavern – and is surrounded by interactive displays about glaciers’ impacts on climate, ecosystems, and geology
